It's hard to tell by the pictures, but these are very sheer (i.e. not to be used for privacy!). I love the way they look overall, so I ended up keeping them and installing roll-up black-out shades behind them for night privacy. I do like how much light they let in during the day - more than I expected! They hang beautifully and appear very elegant. The tops were a little stiff when I first hung them but they look great now. I love the back tabs, super easy to open and close, and they don't creep closed the way some drapes do. Overall I am very happy, just wish I had known ahead of time how sheer they are.
